I love to create and have done art and craft of one kind or another for as long as I can remember. Whatever the materials, I “construct” my pieces, many times starting out with no more than a basic idea and letting the piece tell me where it wants to go. It may be a small scrap of fabric that I like the shape and color of, paper that has a wonderful texture or something I see in the world outside my window.
My art-making and functional fiber projects involve tools and techniques that are a combination of many varied interests: painting, printing, drawing, stitching, hand-dying, beading, I’m open to just about anything and love finding ways to utilize scraps and other items that would usually be thrown away.
I currently utilize both a studio and classroom space at the Box Factory for the Arts in St. Joseph, MI. (https://boxfactoryforthearts.org) as well as a home studio in Chicago, IL
